21st December 2007 Plain Clothes Theatre Productions has won Venue Magazine's BEST PLAY OF 2007 award, topping what has been an extremely successful year for the company. The show was first performed in Bristol at the Alma Tavern in February and March. In October we took the show to the Cheltenham Everyman. Both runs of the show were performed to sell-out audiences and excellent reviews. Venue writes: "Splendidly, the best play we saw this year was written by a Bristol Uni graduate and performed by an emerging local outfit in the resolutely Bristolian surroundings of the Alma Tavern pub theatre. Plain Clothes Theatre's version of Laura Wade's 'Breathing Corpses', a black comedy in which disparate characters were connected by a series of macabre deaths, was nothing short of electric."

Plain Clothes Theatre Productions are proud to announce that their next production will be Joe Penhall's award-winning play 'Blue / Orange'. The production will take the form of a tour, mainly in the South West - we are currently booking venues and are looking to be on the road in Autumn 2008. 'Breathing Corpses' is to resurrected! For two nights only in October (Friday 5th and Saturday 6th) at the Cheltenham Everyman's Other Space, Plain Clothes Theatre will be remounting their sell-out production of Laura Wade's award winning play. 7th December 2006
Plain Clothes Theatre is to return to the Broadmead Baptist Church for their rehearsals of 'Breathing Corpses' in January 2007. Following negotiations this week the church has agreed to let us come back after we rehearsed there earlier this year for 'Problem Child' and 'Criminal Genius'.

14th October 2006
Our next production will be Laura Wade's 'Breathing Corpses'. Today we have received confirmation from the Rod Hall Agency that we have been granted the rights to produce the play. The production will take place at the Alma Tavern over February and March 2007.
